or Clell Tickle: Indie Marketing Guru.
This viral viral video shows how current indie blog marketing works and why indie labels aren’t any better than majors
By the way Tapes ‘n Tapes are playing in cologne on 19th of November. Also Grizzly Bear, which I prefer. Hopefully Clell is not in town.

Dour Festival

Tuesday, July 18th, 2006

We were at the Dour Festival in Belgium last weekend. Les Georges Leningrad and Final Fantasy from Tomlab played there. Like last year it was really really dirty. But we had a lot of fun and saw some really good bands:

Les Georges Leningrad
Islands
31knots
Puppet Mastaz
Constantines
Nada Surf
Gravenhurst
Two Gallants
Final Fantasy
Belle Orchestre
Animal Collective

It was great to see Owen from [...]

I found this already a while ago. Sergia Rabiela remixed last.fm and upcoming.org to find concerts of your favorite artists in your city. In the meantime he added RSS results. This is awesome.
Check it out at http://www.noesbueno.com/musical/

Btw: This is done with rails.

Songbird

Thursday, February 9th, 2006

So I also checked out Songbird. I didn’t get on their website yesterday, but I found a mirror here.
It’s already a nice proof of concept. Like the flock developer release. These two are early versions of upcoming browsers, more and more like web desktops. Firefox (XUL) is perfect for this, even if there is [...]

Indie 2005

Saturday, January 7th, 2006

There are lots of ‘My Favorite Albums 2005′-lists out there. I won’t create one by myself, just being meta and of cause there is my last.fm profile. Since I started using last.fm in April 2005 this profile shows my favorites of 2005.
So here is the meta part:

The Camera as Pen
You ain’t no Picasso
My old Kentucky
Gorilla [...]

If you’d like to have some instant music you can now directly play mp3 links on delicious. A while ago I used a similar greasemonkey script doing the same thing to every mp3 link in firefox. Have a look at Dive into Greasemonkey.
last.fm’s similar artist or tag radios are also fun, they now have a [...]
