Songbird

So I also checked out Songbird. I didn’t get on their website yesterday, but I found a mirror here.

It’s already a nice proof of concept. Like the flock developer release. These two are early versions of upcoming browsers, more and more like web desktops. Firefox (XUL) is perfect for this, even if there is still no linux version of songbird, but you can be sure that it will come. Both flock and songbird are working on top of firefox and not forking it.

To get rid of all that yelling about bloatware it would be nice to reintegrate already mature and stable flock and songbird functionality into firefox. Who would like to have two or three firefoxes up and running? So they will become kind of extensions again ;)

If you like to stay with your firefox as I do you can use two extensions to get some songbird functionality.

While playing around with songbird, I used google’s music search for the first time. It’s like a music froogle. Compare Yahoo and Googles music search.
