Plazes Client

Tuesday, June 28th, 2005

Currently I’m working on a new Gnome Plazes Client. Here is a first shot.
It’s written in C# and based on the Mono framework. I’m having fun building my first Gnome app and I will of course follow the Gnome Human Interface Guidelines. Login works and there is already a tray icon and some more nice [...]

Free media browser

Thursday, June 23rd, 2005

On Kfish’s blog I read something about a free media browser they would like to integrate with rhythmbox like iTunes and the Apple Music Store. This will be a great feature. Daniel and I just had a talk with someone from Apple at the MacExpo here in Cologne. But Apple’s policy will not change, the [...]

Odeo

Thursday, June 23rd, 2005

I have an Odeo account. It’s a fresh new web2.0 podcasting plattform. First look seems that it is really nice. But there is no linux client (which is called ’syncr’) - this is pain in the ass, hopefully they are working on it.
At make magazine you can see some screenshots.
Update: According to Kevin from the [...]

Audio link dump

Wednesday, June 22nd, 2005

Waldar did it, Malo did it, even Spiegel. And I just kept quiet. No, I didn’t want to! At first I thought I have to make two CDs, cause too different music to put it on one. But this took too long and even longer to look for a good collection. So actually there is [...]

Tuesday, June 21st, 2005

By the way. I didn’t blog about the new Plazes feature. You can tag your flickr photos with geo information via Plazes now. Just go to your plaze (or mine) and click on ‘tag your photos on flickr’, type in your flickr account information and select all the photos you took at this plaze. I [...]

Tuesday, June 21st, 2005

Podcasting is so 5 minutes ago…
Roadcasting:
It is a system, currently in prototype state, that allows anyone to have their own radio station, broadcasted among wirelessly capable devices, some in cars, in an ad-hoc wireless network. The system can become aware of individual preferences and is able to choose songs and podcasts that people want to [...]

Hitchhiker

Thursday, June 16th, 2005

Hmm, instead of writing all the stuff I’d liked to, I went to see the Hitchhiker’s Guide in cinenova’s open-air cinema close to my apartment. Nice and funny movie, I can’t get rid of the feeling that they did a much more better job than Peter Jackson with his ‘Lord of the Rings’, but maybe [...]

2 weeks

Wednesday, June 15th, 2005

I didn’t write a post since 2 weeks. Sorry, that’s a long time. To much things to do, problems with my gentoo/php configuration (luckily not with my mod_php, so the website and stuff was still running) and too many things planned in the background…
So tonight there will be a little update, what I have done [...]
